2282995/16/2019 Initial Study and Proposed Negative Declaration for Spray Sprinkler Bodies
The proposed regulations establish water efficiency standards for spray sprinkler bodies. The proposed standard would save about 15 billion gallons and 54 gigawatthours (GWh) the first year the standard is in effect. By 2029, the year that stock turns over, the proposed standards would have an annual savings of about 152 billion gallons and 543 GWh. This amount equates to roughly $955 million in annual savings to California businesses and individuals. Based on the initial study, staff concludes that the regulations will not have a significant impact on the environment, and, in fact, will benefit the environment by resulting in reductions in air pollution. Therefore, a negative declaration is the appropriate environmental document.
